The company was founded in 1946 under the name „Toys Norev”.
First, small plastic cars and toy clocks for children were made. It was not until 1953 that the production of 1:43 and 1:86 models in plastic began.
In the 50s and 60s Norev received some awards for his models, including the toy Oscar.
In 1969, a factory was built in Villeurbanne. Finally in 1971 the production of the famous „Jet Car” series started. These models were made of ZAMAC (a Zinc Aluminum Magnesium Copper alloy for zinc die casting process).
In 1986, Marc Fischer took over the chairmanship of the company and modernized it fundamentally. Now even models of the highest standard could be produced for collectors. Since 1997, Norev has also worked with vehicle manufacturers to produce models of current vehicles.
From the W123 there are currently different models in different scales, which are almost all still available. Some are re-deposits of the famous „Jet Car” series from the 70s and 80s.
